The number three secret of maximum productivity

If you cant describe the activities that you must do in this very specific way, then you will never be able to do it with maximum effectiveness or efficiency. (one of the distinguishing qualities of the New Professionals – and it doesn't take much time to learn)

On this page I'm going to touch on the common view of business process management / workflow diagrams / and business process engineering.

I'm then going to introduce you to a more esoteric subject called 'Processing'.

But first things first…

So what is workflow or process management?

I'm sure wikipedia can do a perfectly good job of explaining that.

But my added contribution is to emphasise the great Edward Demmings point made above.

Ouch.

You see, truth be told, professionals get by on far lower productivity levels than they could and would if only they had their regular tasks locked-down into a process format.

Learn how to build these maps and get a decent software tool such as OmniGraffle for the Mac, and consolidate and automate your important and regular activities into processes.
